Angostura Zenith Caribbean rum producer the House of Angostura has released a limited edition expression made with rare liquid from the closed Caroni Distillery, called Angostura Zenith.

The House of Caroni was established in 1923 on the site of the old Caroni sugar factory on the island of Trinidad, where the House of Angostura is also situated.

The distillery was known for producing rums with a heavy profile – ‘rich, earthy and smoky’.

Using the last of Caroni’s molasses, Zenith combines liquid from both the Caroni and Angostura distilleries. The blend includes Caroni rums aged from 20 to 23 years.

Terrence Bharath, chairman of Angostura Holdings, said: “After three years in development, we’re delighted to extend our Private Cask Collection with the launch of Angostura Zenith, making our rum offering one of the most unique in the world.
