Glenallachie 4 Year Old Future Edition The final release of a very special limited edition trilogy to mark the 50th anniversary of Billy Walker’s career in whisky. The Future Edition is preview of things to come from The Glenallachie; their very first peated malt whisky.

Since taking ownership of Glenallachie in 2017, Walker has made dramatic changes to the distillery’s processes to emphasise quality over quantity. Overall output has been reduced by 80% and wash fermentation time increased to 160 hours to encourage ester production, resulting in a fruitier spirit.
This whisky is made from malted barley peated using speyside peat from St Fergus, Buchan. The spirit was matured for a minimum of 4 years in a combination of Bourbon casks, Rye casks and new oak before bottling at cask strength without chill-filtration or colouring.

Official Tasting Notes Glenallachie 4 Year Old Future Edition

Colour – Auburn.
Nose – Bursting with toasted honeycomb, dried fruits and hazelnut, with hints of smouldering oak, dark chocolate and warm cinnamon apples.
Taste – Lashings of cinnamon stewed pears, toasted almonds, heather honey and pipe tobacco, followed by smoked barley, vanilla toffee and orchard fruits.
